STV’s Health and Science group provides a holistic design practice for health and science clients, drawing on the firm’s resources in architecture; structural, civil and mechanical engineering; program management; environmental assessment; and entitlement and land-use consulting. As architects, our work responds to current thinking about the role of the family, the patient and staff environment,
sustainability, and the safety of the hospital itself in advancing the standard of care for both the public and private sectors. Similarly, we recognize that basic research in the bio-sciences has moved towards greater teamwork among the disciplines, and the translation of research into therapeutic outcomes depends on collaboration among research groups themselves and between researchers and clinicians.
Our design experience includes new construction and renovation of inpatient and outpatient facilities, behavioral health, clinical research and basic research laboratories and diagnostic laboratories. In addition to our design services, we offer master planning for academic medical centers and research campuses and development of design standards for health and science clients.
