Carol RosePHILADELPHIA, PA – STV, a professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced that Carol Rose, PMP, has been promoted to vice president. In this new role, Rose leads the vehicle team’s projects and pursuits with some of its largest clients.

“Over the course of her more than 28-year career at STV, Carol has demonstrated exceptional technical expertise, having started as an electrical test engineer and growing into both project management and supervisory roles,” said James Martin, P.E., PMP, senior vice president and the head of the vehicles group at STV. “We are proud of how Carol has grown her career at STV, as well as her long-standing rapport with many of our key clients.”

Rose joined STV in 1996 and has served in various capacities for rail vehicle procurement and engineering programs. She has worked in close partnership with agencies like the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDMTA), Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT), as well as the Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road in New York.

Currently, she is serving as railcar project manager for the MDMTA Baltimore Metro subway and train control replacement project; project manager for the specification development of the CTDOT’s new single level railcar procurement; and project manager for Metro-North Railroad’s single-level coach procurement. She is also managing several high-profile assignments with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) under a vehicle engineering services contract, including the specification development for the Silverliner VI commuter electrical multiple unit cars and several task orders for the new multi-level coaches.

Within the industry, Rose is currently president of the Engineers’ Club of Philadelphia and previously served as chair of the Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS) Northeast Region Council and president of the WTS Philadelphia Chapter, where she launched a professional mentoring program for the Philadelphia region. Additionally, Rose has served on multiple boards and in management roles with the Junior League of Philadelphia, Inc., an 800+ member organization of women that promotes voluntarism to create change in communities.  

Rose earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Drexel University in Philadelphia.
