To upgrade Data Center operations, Astra Merck, now AstraZeneca, retained STV to provide combined design and construction management services for a new 7,500-square-foot data center, which included administrative space and a "war room." The purpose of the center is to provide a sales mechanism for the marketing of one of the world’s best-selling prescription medications. The project was executed on a fast-track basis, and the center is designed with a 300kVA UPS, a 500kW standby generator, and all communications equipment in one location. From there, multi-pair cables connect two groups of servers, Intel and UNIX.
