Logan International Airport Wayfinding Program
To improve customer navigation around Logan International Airport in Boston, the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) selected STV to develop a wayfinding master plan, including the types and locations of directional signage, for terminals, parking garages, curbsides, and service roadways.
With the goal of creating a wayfinding program that met Massport’s expectations while remaining within budget, STV identified the type and location of signage required for each area at Logan. One of the project’s challenges was working within a constantly changing environment, including airline locations and gates, airline renovation projects, Massport renovation projects, and advertising installations.
After producing the master plan, the firm provided architectural and engineering services for the design and implementation phase of the new wayfinding signage system at the airport’s Terminal C.
