Princeton Municipal Light Department Wind Energy Project

Princeton Municipal Light Department (PMLD) erected two 1.5MW wind turbines on Mount Wachusett to help reduce energy costs for its customers by generating more energy from a renewable source. Each turbine has a 65-meter tower hub height and 77-meter rotor diameter. STV designed the turbine foundations and rock anchors, provided specifications and drawings and engineering consulting services as part of a design-build team. STV provided unique solutions to siting the two wind turbines on the project site to take advantage of the predominant wind direction and allow for construction of access roads.
