STV oversaw preliminary through final design for the adaptive re-use of the 11-story, 70,000-square-foot historic Maryland Trust office building in downtown Baltimore. The structure, built in 1900, has been transformed into a 99-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott hotel. By adhering to historic preservation guidelines, the developer received tax credits for the renovation of this building. The building is one of the city's earliest skyscrapers and one of the few downtown buildings to have survived the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904.
