West Haven Station – REI/CEI

Increasing ridership on Metro-North Railroad’s New Haven Line, which connects New Haven, CT, to Grand Central Terminal in New York City, necessitated a new commuter railroad station in West Haven, CT. STV performed resident engineering and inspection and construction engineering and inspection services in support of this $83 million facility on behalf of the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

The program included construction of a 3,000-square-foot transit hub, high-level platforms along both sides of the 4-track main line, a pedestrian walkway across the tracks, and 5 miles of catenary and signal work. STV coordinated between Metro-North Railroad and the contractor to oversee daily quality control of all construction activities to verify that work was completed in accordance with all plans and specifications.
