Emily Kotsaftis, AIA, LEED AP, vice president and architectural director at STV, has been appointed director-at-large to the Women in Transportation Seminar Greater New York (WTS-GNY) Chapter Board of Directors for 2026. The appointment was announced at the chapter’s 46th Annual Meeting & Awards Dinner, which convenes transportation leaders from across the region to recognize professional achievement and industry leadership.
“WTS plays a crucial role in creating space for women to lead, connect and be visible across our industry,” Kotsaftis said. “I’m looking forward to contributing to that work through the WTS-GNY board and helping strengthen connections between education, early-career professionals and long-term industry leadership.”
In this role, Kotsaftis will serve as board liaison for the chapter’s College Outreach and Young Professionals Committees, supporting WTS-GNY’s ongoing efforts to engage students and emerging professionals interested in transportation and infrastructure careers. The position closely aligns with her long-standing involvement in mentorship, education and workforce development initiatives.
At STV, Kotsaftis leads the transportation market for the firm’s national Buildings group, bridging architectural leadership with major transportation and aviation programs and bringing more than two decades of experience in designing and delivering multidisciplinary, operationally complex facilities across the region. Her work focuses on infrastructure projects that support mobility, enrich communities and advance thoughtful, resilient design solutions. She is a longstanding member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and has held positions on the New York Chapter’s Board of Directors.
STV has a long-standing relationship with WTS-GNY, actively supporting the organization’s mission to advance women and foster leadership within the transportation industry. The firm was recently named Employer of the Year by the chapter, reflecting its ongoing commitment to mentorship and professional development.
