Michelle Veri, AIA PMP, a transit maintenance facility project manager at STV Lake Oswego, Oregon, has been selected to participate in the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Class of 2026 Leadership Program.
Leadership APTA is one of the most highly regarded professional development opportunities in our industry. Each year, it brings together a select group of transit professionals from across the country to strengthen their leadership skills, build industry-wide connections and advance the future of public transportation.
“Michelle will make an excellent addition to this year’s Leadership APTA cohort,” said Jeffrey Messinger, PE, LEED AP BD+C, vice president and head of STV’s maintenance facilities practice. “Her selection is a testament to her more than 20 years of experience in transit design and construction, dedication to professional growth and passion for advancing our industry.”
Since joining STV, Veri has made significant contributions, leading projects such as SamTrans’ Operating Facilities Assessment and Valley Metro’s West Valley Operations & Maintenance Facility. She also has supported efforts for NJ TRANSIT and North County Transit District, delivering sustainable, operationally efficient facilities that meet evolving fleet and technology needs.
Beyond her project work, Veri exemplifies leadership through service. She volunteers with the Oregon Electric Railway Historical Society; mentors women in transit through WTS’ Portland Chapter; and serves on APTA’s Bus Maintenance Facility Working Group.
“I want to thank my colleagues for their support of my selection and for the opportunities I’ve received while at STV,” Veri said. “I look forward to expanding my leadership skills and collaborating with other industry professionals through Leadership APTA.”
