Accessibility Improvements at Sullivan Square, North, and Arlington Stations
To enhance accessibility for riders with disabilities, improve reliability, and comply with current code requirements, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) is replacing and upgrading elevator systems at three stations along the Green and Orange light rail train lines. STV is providing architectural and engineering design services for these new elevators at Arlington, North, and Sullivan stations. Select existing elevators will also undergo the repair and replacements.
In addition, STV will design safety improvements to the mechanical, electrical, and communications systems that will support the three stations’ elevators. The firm’s designs will extend to upgraded station finishes, lighting, wayfinding signage, and enhanced fire alarm and security systems. Once design is completed, STV will also provide bidding and construction administration services
