Delaware River Natural Gas Pipeline Replacement
An existing 8-inch pipeline owned by STV’s client was damaged during U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) dredging operations to deepen and widen the shipping channel within the Delaware River, and is being relocated to accommodate the USACE’s expansion of the navigation channel as well as proposed maintenance activities. STV is providing comprehensive engineering, design, permitting, CM, and post construction support within a tight timeline for the 3.5-mile replacement and relocation.
The new 24-inch pipeline starts at an existing meter junction northwest of the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) in Tinicum Township, crossing the Delaware River and exiting on the Paulsboro Refining Company’s property in New Jersey. The 3.5-mile relocation includes an intercept horizontal directional drill (HDD) of approximately 8,000 linear feet.
