As a result of routine inspections, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) prioritized six bridge replacement projects for structural improvements. STV was selected to provide civil, structural, and environmental engineering services for their demolition and replacements. While each bridge has unique structural challenges, the project team is replacing all six bridges concurrently to maximize efficiency.

Among the firm’s duties, STV is providing environmental engineering services that include supporting an archeological study at two sites where artifacts have been found. Once complete, the firm’s designs will improve vertical clearance requirements under the bridges and concerns of erosion from nearby rivers while minimizing pubic inconvenience.
