Hart Expressway Modifications
As part of one of the largest redevelopment programs in the city’s history, the Hart Bridge Expressway’s overhead ramps near TIAA Bank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars football team, were demolished and new ramps were designed to tie-in to the at-grade roadway. STV was contracted to deliver the design on a fast-track schedule to meet schedule constraints dictated by project funding and stakeholder commitments. Final design was executed, and the project went from preliminary design into construction phase in four months.
STV performed final designs for roadway, drainage, and multi-phased traffic planning, along with structural design for retaining walls, steel and concrete structures, and signal and guide sign structures. The firm also performed utility coordination services, assisted the Florida Department of Transportation with National Environmental Policy Act approvals and permits, right of way transfers, and local agency program agreements, and aided with grant applications.
