I-10 Widening from Gadsden County Line to West of SR 263

STV is leading a multidisciplinary team that is providing final design documents for the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) District 3 I-10 widening project. Located in Leon County, the project involves widening a one-mile stretch of I-10 that runs between the Gadsden County line to SR 263 near Tallahassee, from an existing four-lane roadway to six lanes. The program also calls for the replacement of two aging 1,210-foot bridges over the Ochlocknee River.

The roadway spans a historic, state-protected river and therefore the project required National Environmental Policy Act approval before it could proceed. The dual bridges also run through a constrained project area, necessitating innovative traffic control planning, design, and constructability review so that the interstate can remain on its existing alignment after construction. Additionally, STV is providing bridge hydraulic analysis services, as well as assisting with utility relocations, environmental permitting, signage and pavement marking design, and public involvement components.
