On behalf of the New York City Housing Authority, STV performed construction management services t seven buildings damaged by Superstorm Sandy at NYCHA’s Lillian Wald Houses development on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

The construction program included new building entrances which were outfitted with Americans with Disabilities Act- (ADA) compliant ramps; building landings; entrances that were integrated with improved flood mitigation systems; and electrical rooms. Additionally, building security was significantly improved with the introduction of bulletproof glass doors and new intercom systems.

During construction phases the firm worked with residents to provide a means of egress from the complex, and coordinated all shutdowns to minimize impacts to residents, especially those with health care needs.
