Richmond International Airport Runway 7-25 Conversion to Taxiway H

To support the decommissioning of Runway 7-25, and its conversion into a taxiway at Richmond International Airport—the gateway to Virginia’s capital region—our team provided design and build phase services for this program. The project’s scope included the rehabilitation via mill and overlay of existing runway asphalt pavement, the addition of full-depth shoulder pavement, and the demolition of pavement east of Runway 16-34. Additionally, the program incorporated the installation of edge lights, taxiway pavement markings, and airfield drainage structure and pipes.

Construction support and construction management services included full-time construction inspection/observation, quality assurance field and lab materials testing, and as-built surveying. Additionally, the firm coordinated with various entities and stakeholders throughout the lifespan of the project, including the Federal Aviation Administration—Washington Airports District Office, Federal Aviation Administration Tech Ops, Virginia Department of Aviation, and the Henrico County Department of Public Utilities and Department of Public Works.
