Rockland County Bus Procurement Consulting Services

The County of Rockland, NY, Public Transportation Division embarked on a bus procurement program to replace overage buses in their existing fleet. The county called on STV to provide both professional consulting services to support the bus procurement program, as well as technical support to its transportation unit. As part of this program, STV prepared specifications for the procurement of paratransit vehicles and 35-, and 40-foot long transit buses.

STV also supported the county during its analysis of double decker style buses that were proposed to be used on the new Tappan Zee Bridge. Most recently, the firm reviewed and revised the operating contract that the county will use to select its operations and maintenance (O&M) contractor for its bus fleet. STV integrated a significant number of operational parameters into the specifications so that revenue service performance indicators, data, trends and observations were accurately reflected in the next O&M contract requirements.
