STV prepared architectural designs for the Rockland County Highway Department’s new garage and headquarters, serving as architect-of-record for the project in support of McLaren Engineering Group.

The 112,500-square foot, $35 million complex comprises seven structures: an office building to house the department’s administration, operation, engineering and drainage divisions; an operations and maintenance building; a truck storage structure to house over 100 trucks; a vehicle repair shop; a truck wash; a salt shed; and a seasonal storage facility.

Located on the border between Clarkstown and Chestnut Ridge, NY, with convenient access to Rockland’s roads and highways, the new state-of-the-art facility will help reduce response times during snow emergencies and improve the County’s ability to maintain its highway infrastructure.
