Roosevelt House, Hunter College

STV was the owner's representative and construction manager for both the pre-construction and construction phases of the $22.9 million restoration and rehabilitation of Roosevelt House, the historic New York City home of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.

The six-story brick and limestone townhouse, a registered landmark completed in 1908, was in need of extensive repair when it was closed in 1992. An extension to the basement and sub-cellar created an auditorium to host conferences, lectures and other programs. The former dining and drawing rooms are now available for presentations and receptions. Franklin Roosevelt's library has been restored as a museum and seminar space. The top floor has been converted into two apartments and a roof terrace. STV was responsible for managing the schedule, budget and all prime contractors for the project. The firm also provided all estimating, scheduling and constructability services.
