Supported by a $7.95 million federal Health Resources and Services Administration grant, the administrators of the Codman Square Health Center in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood selected STV to provide comprehensive construction management oversight services for an $18.2 million interior renovation and expansion. The firm’s services for the four-story, 32,000-square-foot addition included support during the grant application and preconstruction phases.

STV’s team managed scheduling and reviewed drawings, specifications, and bid documents, and coordinated with the architect, engineers, and contractor to meet the client’s schedule and budget requirements while minimizing impacts to operations during construction. The addition houses 22 exam rooms to accommodate 5,300 new patients, six radiology/mammography suites, and 13 health care provider offices, as well as eight classrooms, two science laboratories, a library, a 160-seat black-box theatre, and a full-service teaching kitchen and dining center. The project earned LEED® Gold certification.
