North East Transportation Company, Inc. Headquarters Relocation

North East Transportation Company, Inc. HeadquartersA site that was once occupied by a drive-in theater in Watertown, CT, is now home to a state-of-the-art headquarters for the North East Transportation Company, Inc. (NET). The company operates public bus transit services in the greater Waterbury, Meriden and Wallingford areas through a management contract with the Connecticut Department of Transportation. STV|DPM helped to develop detailed, multi-phased move schedule that included the relocation of employees as well as the moving and rigging of equipment, write up of mover/rigging RFP, assistance with the management in the selection of the mover/rigger, as well as the management and approval of invoices and on-site supervision for all move related activities. 

The headquarters features a covered employee parking on the lower level, a main level that provides interior vehicle storage, bus wash, parts warehouse, maintenance bays, offices, employee lounge, and a second level with areas for the administrative staff. The company operates a fleet of 84 vehicles and employs 155 people. NET was established in 1925 and, prior to the move, had operated from a converted brass manufacturing facility located in Waterbury, CT for more than 36 years.

innoPAD

innopadSTV|DPM provided innoPad with support throughout the site selection, due diligence and lease evaluation phases to ensure its new 28,220-square-foot headquarters and manufacturing facility would meet its growth and production needs.  This included the engagement of the design and construction teams, along with other specialty consultants, evaluation of cost estimates and review of all programming, design and construction documents.  Upon site selection, STV|DPM provided project oversight and controls including design management, comprehensive construction administration, FF&E procurement and move planning services.  The space which consisted of 3,720 square feet of refurbished office and 24,500 square feet of production space, a 2,200 square-foot, class 10K clean room as well as a state-of-the-art reverse osmosis (RODI) water system. 

 


Northeast Electrical Distributors

NENorthEast Electrical Distributors (NEED), one of New England's largest, full service electrical equipment distributing companies relocated its headquarters and distribution center to over 190,000 square feet of space. The new leading-edge facility features a state of the art training center, modern employee cafeteria and over 160,000 square feet of warehouse space. The entire facility was designed with advanced energy efficient lighting and controls that outperform the Massachusetts state energy code. STV|DPM was retained by Equity Industrial Partners on NEED's behalf to develop a comprehensive project plan for the turnkey project which included the renovation and multi-phased relocation of office and warehouse space. STV|DPM also assisted with the coordination of the design/build team.


Trumpf

TrumpfSTV|DPM was retained by Trumpf to oversee and manage the construction of their new 83,000-square-foot Laser Innovation & Technical Excellence (LITE) building in Farmington, CT. This new facility is used to further develop new lasers, expand the company’s production of laser resonators and maintain their leadership in state of the art laser technology.

This high-tech facility added 83,000 square feet to the existing TRUMPF Inc. campus. The building features a new 55,200-square-foot production hall, a 6,000-square-foot classroom and a 10,000-square-foot cleanroom designed for the manufacturing and testing of CO2 and solid-state laser resonators. The building also houses the company’s laser marking application and sales group and gives the information technologies department a larger area for a state-of-the-art server room.


The United Illuminating Company

UISTV|DPM served as the project site manager for the development of United Illuminating's new, 56 acre corporate headquarters campus.  The $120MM project consisted of 376,419 square feet of LEED silver certified office, warehouse and operations space including a 159,000 square-foot operations center and 131,000 square-foot office complex, as well as a two-story parking structure.  

STV|DPM was engaged to ensure best practices for construction, testing and commissioning and also provided comprehensive construction management services throughout the entire project.   The team worked closely with the architect, engineers, and owner to manage the project through construction.
