To meet its regular maintenance needs, the Tri-County Metropolitan Transportation District of Oregon (TriMet) selected STV to provide on-call systems engineering services in support of various improvements to the agency’s commuter rail system. The contract includes design improvements for commuter and light rail vehicles, as well as traction power and distribution and communications systems.

Among the firm’s services is conducting light rail traction power substation training for TriMet’s training program. STV’s familiarity and previous experience with TriMet allowed the firm to create a tailored curriculum based on site-specific experience. Initial task orders have also included the preparation and review of technical documents to meet criteria for proposed light rail vehicle improvements.
