Doug Glorie, PE, CIH, CSP, LEED AP, vice president and head of STV’s environmental group, was selected to chair the American Council of
Engineering Companies of New York’s (ACEC New York) Construction Safety Committee for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
ACEC New York’s Construction Safety Committee advises construction and design professionals who work at construction sites and other related locations. As chair, Glorie will work closely with the committee’s appointed government liaison to help make a positive impact on policy and legislation.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for me and for STV as a whole,” Glorie said. “Being able to have a voice in an area as crucial as construction site safety is highly important. I’m looking forward to leveraging this role to make a real difference for both my STV colleagues, the engineering community, and our partners and clients.”
In addition to leading STV’s environmental team, which performs a range of services for federal, state and local agencies including managing hazardous material abatement, environmental site investigations, environmental monitoring and environmental remediation projects, Glorie is also well-versed in health and safety issues within the industry. He has prepared site-specific Health and Safety Plans for site investigations and construction inspection projects, and he has instructed health and safety courses on subjects that include lead abatement; respiratory protection; hazard communication and OSHA regulations for hazardous materials, demolition and construction.
