STV VP Named to ACEC Virginia Executive Board
Scott Lovell

Scott Lovell, PE, vice president and area manager for STV’s Virginia and Washington, D.C. operations, was elected to the executive board of the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia (ACEC VA). Lovell will serve as vice chair for the 2024-2025 year, overseeing the Eastern section of the state’s largest engineering consultant’s association that provides leadership, education and networking opportunities.

“I’m thrilled to serve our ACEC Virginia community in this role and continue our organization’s mission of advocating for the engineering industry across the state and nation,” said Lovell, who will also serve on the board of trustees for ACEC VA’s budget and finance committee. “STV has a long history in Virginia. Being involved with organizations like ACEC VA strengthens our relationships and our visibility with agencies and our local communities.”

An active member of ACEC VA for over 15 years, Lovell previously chaired the chapter’s transportation committee, expanding the representation of the transportation sector at ACEC VA’s annual Virginia Engineers Conference. He developed the transportation education tracks at the conference and increased participation from Virginia’s transportation authorities. Lovell is also an ex-officio member of the organization’s environmental committee. Additionally, he is a founding member and past president of the Greater Hampton Roads chapter of the American Society of Highway Engineers.

“Throughout my 35 years in the industry, I’ve seen how vital it is to advocate for what we do as engineers and to educate our communities about how our work impacts their lives,” Lovell said. “I look forward to representing STV and ACEC VA in this new role.”
