Gina Venuto-Gabriella, a civil engineering specialist in STV’s Philadelphia office, has been named chair of social events for the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Philadelphia Younger Member Forum (ASCE YMF).

The YMF connects college students, recent graduates and young engineering professionals, offering networking opportunities and promoting civil engineering through public engagement and career development initiatives.

In her new role, Venuto-Gabriella will oversee networking and social events, including happy hours and joint gatherings with other societies and YMF branches. She will also coordinate the annual YMF Phillies game outing.

“Our first event was a huge success,” said Venuto-Gabriella. “We had an impressive turnout of early-career engineers at Urban Village Brewing Co. to network and enjoy the waning days of summer.”

Venuto-Gabriella emphasized the importance of networking beyond career development. “It’s about building relationships, sharing ideas and fostering a supportive community,” she said.

Her experience includes serving on the board of WTS Philadelphia as chair of TransportationYOU, a program dedicated to encouraging and mentoring young women who have an interest in the engineering industry. She also serves on several WTS Philadelphia committees, such as the Awards & Recognition committee and the Scholarship committee. Venuto-Gabriella has also participated in WTS’s Philadelphia Emerging Leaders Program and the WTS Philadelphia Mentorship Program.

The ASCE, founded in 1852, is America’s oldest national engineering society, representing more than 150,000 members worldwide in the civil engineering profession.
