For Ashley McClaran, project executive, education isn’t just about buildings—it’s about opportunity, empowerment, and the foundation of a thriving society. That’s why she’s excited to have been elected to the Board of the Washington Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE), an organization dedicated to shaping the future of educational spaces.
“Schools play a critical role in preparing students not only academically but as engaged citizens who can shape the future,” she said. “When I got the call and nomination, I was honored. A4LE brings together passionate professionals who are rethinking and improving school design, and I’m excited to be part of that conversation and to support the work in a bigger way.”
With a background in developmental psychology, architectural design, and experience as a former educator, McClaran brings a unique perspective to school planning and facility development. Over the past decade, she has worked with more than 15 school districts across three states guiding master planning, design, and project management to create environments where students and educators can thrive.
McClaran has been an active member of A4LE’s second-largest chapter since 2018. As secretary, she will focus on strengthening communication within the organization.
“I see my work with A4LE as an extension of STV’s work—helping schools and districts plan for learning spaces that will serve generations of students and their communities.”
