STV’s Bellevue team recently gave back to the community by volunteering with Food Lifeline, a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing surplus food and ensuring it reaches families who need it most across Western Washington.
STV employees sorted and packed 3,600 pounds of oranges, helping move fresh, nutritious food quickly into circulation. Thanks to the team’s efforts, these oranges were distributed to local families within days, while also reducing food waste.
“Sorting and packing was simple but meaningful work and it means local families will have access to fresh fruit by Monday,” said Pacific Northwest vice president and area manager Allison Dane Camden. “It was a great way to spend an afternoon, and Food Lifeline made our participation easy. I can’t recommend this volunteer experience enough.”
Food insecurity continues to affect communities across Washington, impacting nearly one in four people. Food Lifeline bridges this gap by rescuing surplus food and coordinating so it reaches food banks, shelters and community partners throughout the region.
“Food Lifeline is incredibly well organized, mission-driven, and welcoming,” said area manager Ashley McClaran. “In just a few hours, you can make a real difference by keeping nutritious food in circulation and supporting communities in our region.”
