STV Vice President and Technical Director of Structural Engineering, Urbanism and Planning, Christopher Cerino, P.E., F.SEI, DBIA, was recently appointed Vice President of the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA) 2023-24 Board of Directors.
Cerino, a longtime member of the NCSEA, has previously held other leadership roles with this organization, serving as Director and then Treasurer for two years, respectively. Previously, Cerino served as Vice President and subsequently President for the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY), a regional branch of the NCSEA. In 2024, Cerino will take on the role of NCSEA President.

At STV, Cerino has led structural engineering efforts for award-winning projects, including most recently the Newark Liberty International Airport New Terminal A. He has made significant contributions to the structural engineering profession, devoting himself to mentoring the next generation of engineers and emerging as a renowned researcher and thought leader on one of the most pressing topics affecting our communities – resilience and adaptability for climate change.
Cerino’s expertise, vision, and leadership have been invaluable to many other organizations in our profession. In addition to his role with NCSEA, Cerino currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Salvadori Center and serves as Vice Chair of the ASCE 7 and ASCE 24 Code Committees. As NCSEA Vice President, he will continue to advance the organization’s core mission to constantly improve the standard level of practice of the structural engineering profession.
