Don Pedigo, PLS, federal program manager at STV, has been selected as the Secretary of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Southern Zone, a leadership role he will hold for the 2027–2028 term.

The appointment reflects STV’s continued engagement in professional governance that shapes licensure standards, regulatory consistency and quality outcomes across complex, multi-jurisdictional infrastructure programs.

The NCEES Southern Zone comprises 15 states and jurisdictions, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Virginia. As Secretary, Pedigo will support zone leadership by maintaining official records, documenting meetings and helping ensure continuity across a region that delivers some of the nation’s most complex transportation, water and federal infrastructure programs. Safeguarding this consistency in licensure and professional standards is an increasingly crucial need for infrastructure programs that span multiple states, agencies and delivery models.

“Serving in this role is about stewardship of the profession,” Pedigo said. “NCEES plays a critical role in maintaining consistent standards across jurisdictions, which ultimately supports public trust and gives clients greater confidence as projects cross state and regional boundaries. I’m looking forward to contributing to that work alongside my colleagues across the Southern Zone.”

Based in Glasgow, Kentucky, Pedigo brings more than 45 years of experience in surveying, program management and professional leadership. He is a licensed professional land surveyor in Kentucky, Tennessee and Georgia.

Pedigo has been actively involved with NCEES for more than a decade and currently serves on two committees. In addition to his NCEES involvement, Pedigo is a Past Chairman, Vice Chair and Secretary/Treasurer and a current member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Engineers and Land Surveyors, as well as a member and Past President of the Kentucky Association of Professional Surveyors. He is also an active member of the Tennessee Association of Professional Surveyors, the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers, the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals and the Society of American Military Engineers and serves on the Western Kentucky University Surveying Advisory Committee.

In his current role at STV, Pedigo manages large‑scale architectural and engineering contracts across multiple states, bringing regulatory fluency, quality oversight and long‑term program leadership to federal and complex infrastructure initiatives. His work spans military installations, federal agencies, aviation and major economic development efforts, including mega-site planning and development involving water, wastewater and related infrastructure.
