Bronwyn Horgan, an intern with STV’s infrastructure economics team, was a recipient of a scholarship from WTS’s Washington, D.C.(WTS-DC), Chapter. Horgan, who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in economics from George Mason University, has been an STV intern since October 2023.
“We’re so excited that WTS-DC recognized Bronwyn’s hard work and aptitude for economics with this scholarship,” said Patricia Macchi, vice president, national director of STV’s infrastructure economics practice and a WTS Foundation board director. “STV is committed to her professional development and this scholarship helps in that mission. Since joining our team last year, Bronwyn has supported our cutting-edge research dashboard, G.R.A.N.T.S., and other projects including a climate risk assessment program that developed key performance indicators and analyzed data covering the impacts of facility shutdowns.”
In addition to her work at STV, Horgan has demonstrated a commitment to community service and mentorship by serving as a head coach for Girls on the Run, which provides young girls with life skill development with specialized physical activities.
“As a member of WTS-DC for a little over a year now, it was truly an honor to be recognized by the organization with this scholarship,” Horgan said. “STV has allowed me to perform some hands-on work where I can leverage my analytical skills to help our clients overcome their challenges. This scholarship from WTS-DC stands to further help me with future professional pursuits and goals.”
WTS-DC recognizes young women and female-identifying professionals who are studying transportation and related fields at community college, undergraduate and graduate programs in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area with scholarships every year.
