James Martin, PE, PMP, senior vice president and head of STV’s vehicles practice, has been named to City & State Pennsylvania’s “2024 Trailblazers in Building & Infrastructure” list.

City & State Pennsylvania is a multimedia news organization that covers Pennsylvania’s state and local government with an emphasis on politics and public policy. The Trailblazers in Building & Infrastructure list honors the individuals that “lay the literal and figurative groundwork for industry of every kind.”

In Martin’s commendation, the publication highlighted his leadership in such initiatives as the planned procurement for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s M5 metro cars for the SEPTA’s Market-Frankford Line, as well as  the procurement of Amtrak’s new Intercity Trainsets (AIRO) and Amtrak’s Long Distance Fleet.

The article also cited Martin’s stewardship in mentoring the next generation of industry professionals via the ACE (Architecture Construction Engineering) Mentor Program in Philadelphia.

“This is such an honor and I’m humbled to be a part of this list,” Martin said. “For decades, STV’s vehicles team has played a crucial role in making communities better by helping to make rail and transit more accessible, comfortable and efficient. We have also always prioritized mentoring and developing future leaders in this industry whether it be through our involvement in the ACE Mentor Program or Drexel University’s Co-op program.”
