John D. Dumas Joins STV as Senior Vice President

NEW YORK, NY – John D. Dumas, a construction executive with more than 30 years of experience in project and program management, has joined STV as a senior vice president and national director of the firm’s Project Controls Group. STV is a leading architectural and engineering firm providing planning, design and construction management for transportation and infrastructure, building and energy projects nationwide.

In his new position, Dumas will oversee the firm’s estimating, scheduling, cost control and construction technology functions for a portfolio of commercial, governmental, educational and institutional projects. This includes the multi-billion dollar overhaul of New York’s LaGuardia Airport, modernization of the Los Angeles International Airport and ongoing work to expand Grand Central Terminal to accommodate Long Island Rail Road passengers. He has successfully completed more than $20 billion worth of project and program financial controls across an array of industrial sectors in both international and domestic markets.

Over the course of his career, Dumas has demonstrated a strong record of controlling project costs and maintaining schedules by improving reporting and communications among large project teams. Among his most notable projects are the $10 billion Microsoft Global Data Center Program, the $1.6 billion upgrade of the University of Maryland’s nine campuses, and the $500 million renovation and construction of library and research space at the University of Calgary.

Dumas earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix, in Phoenix, AZ, and a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing, from Iona College, in New Rochelle, NY. He is a member of The Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering International and the Project Management Institute.
