The LAX/Metro Transit Center has been named one of the World’s Most Beautiful Passenger Stations for 2026 by Prix Versailles, a prestigious international awards program that recognizes excellence in architecture, design, sustainability and cultural impact. The station is one of only seven facilities selected worldwide and the only station in the United States to receive the distinction.

STV supported the LAX/Metro Transit Center through initial planning, conceptual design and interagency coordination services that helped lead to the selection and integration of the station with Los Angeles International Airport’s (LAX) Consolidated Rental Car facility and automated people mover (APM) at the 96th Street location, improving transit access to LAX and greater regional connectivity.

Opened in 2025, the LAX/Metro Transit Center serves Metro’s C and K Lines, Metro and municipal bus services and will connect directly with LAX’s forthcoming APM system. Prix Versailles cited the station’s sweeping canopies, glass ceilings, natural ventilation and solar energy features among the reasons for its selection.

Three of the seven stations recognized by Prix Versailles this year will receive additional World Titles during the organization’s awards ceremony in Paris on December 10.

STV’s work on the LAX/Metro Transit Center is part of a broader portfolio helping Los Angeles expand mobility choices and build a more connected, future-ready transportation network. That work includes the Metro D Line Section 2 and 3 extensions, the C Line Extension to Torrance, Metro’s Zero-Emission Bus Program and early planning and procurement support for the LAX Automated People Mover.
