Michael Chisholm, PE, a senior project manager at STV based in Frisco, Texas, has been named Member of the Year by the North Central Texas Branch of the American Public Works Association (NCT-APWA). The honor recognizes Chisholm’s dedication to public works, professional leadership and service to the communities the organization supports.
“Being named Member of the Year was incredibly humbling,” Chisholm said. “APWA is led by professionals who set the standard for public works, and recognition from colleagues I admire and learn from every day means a great deal to me.”
Chisholm serves as STV’s roadway group manager in the Dallas-Fort Worth region, providing technical expertise, leadership and a solutions-oriented mindset to every challenge. His work includes complex municipal projects that require extensive coordination, problem-solving and sensitivity to community impacts.
Chisholm has been involved with APWA for over six years and has been a member for the past five years. He most recently served as Education Chair, where his leadership helped organize a highly successful one-day educational seminar for the chapter. This seminar typically attracts hundreds of attendees and provides a cost-effective opportunity for local public works professionals to learn from over 25 presenters, supporting any continuing education requirements for licensure and certification.
Growing up in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, Chisholm has firsthand experience of how infrastructure influences daily life and builds communities – an experience that continues to fuel his passion for public works and service. That perspective has shaped his leadership style at STV, where he encourages collaboration, patience and accountability, always keeping people and communities at the center of his work.
“Michael is one of those rare people you can trust with anything,” said Jacob Roberts, PE, vice president and North Texas area manager. “He has become a cornerstone in how we deliver projects for our clients and how we develop our younger staff. APWA North Texas honoring him reflects something we at STV see every day – Michael makes the people around him better, and he makes our community better.”
