Richard Taylor, CCM, regional construction management technical lead for Texas and Oklahoma for STV’s water team, has been elected secretary and board member of the inaugural Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) Heartland Chapter Board. The organization – in its first year as a chartered chapter – covers seven Midwestern states: Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota.
The CMAA Heartland Chapter brings together leaders responsible for delivering public infrastructure, utility and capital improvement programs across the region, helping strengthen project delivery through collaboration, education and industry engagement.
Through his service on the CMAA Heartland Chapter Board, Taylor will help advance construction management best practices while bringing valuable industry perspectives back to STV’s utility clients, capital program owners and communities investing in critical infrastructure. His involvement will help strengthen the exchange of knowledge and best practices that support safe, high-quality project delivery and greater confidence in project outcomes.
“As utilities and communities across the Midwest continue investing in critical infrastructure, it’s more important than ever that we foster professional development and knowledge sharing across our industry,” Taylor said. “The CMAA Heartland Chapter provides an important forum for construction professionals to collaborate and strengthen the practices that help infrastructure projects succeed, improve project delivery outcomes and provide greater certainty for owners and stakeholders, and I’m honored to contribute to those efforts through the chapter’s leadership.”
At STV, Taylor helps guide the delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure programs in the growing Oklahoma and Texas markets. His experience spans field operations, contractor coordination, schedule and cost management, quality assurance and project delivery for utility clients. He is a Certified Construction Manager through the Construction Manager Certification Institute and has more than 18 years of construction management experience.
