As students in Atlanta prepared to return to the classroom for the new school year, STV partnered with Slater Empowered, the nonprofit initiative of Slater Infrastructure Group, to provide 300 backpacks filled with school supplies to scholars at Hollis Innovation Academy. The effort helped equip students with essential classroom materials and reinforced both organizations’ shared commitment to supporting the communities where they live and work.
Representatives from STV, Slater Empowered and Hollis Innovation Academy gathered to recognize the contribution and celebrate the role that community partners can play in helping students and families start the school year with confidence.
“Every student deserves to start the school year focused on learning, and walking through the door with the supplies they need can make a meaningful difference,” said Chris Haney, president at STV. “When we invest in young people and create opportunities for them to succeed, we’re helping build a stronger future for Atlanta.”
The Hollis Innovation Academy donation is one example of STV’s broader commitment to education, workforce development and community engagement across Georgia. Through partnerships with schools, nonprofit organizations and industry groups, STV employees have participated in programs that introduce students to career pathways, support STEM education and create meaningful opportunities for the next generation. These efforts help expose students to future career opportunities and contribute to building a strong, skilled workforce for Atlanta and communities across Georgia.
In addition to local school partnerships, STV is a sustaining partner of The Water Tower, a nonprofit organization in Buford, Georgia, focused on applied research, workforce development and education for the water industry. STV employees also support The Water Tower through volunteer involvement and community events, including its annual charity golf tournament, which helps fund STEM education and workforce training programs. Together, these efforts reflect STV’s long-term investment in developing future talent and strengthening Georgia communities.
