Kim Vierheilig, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, president of the national buildings group at STV, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the ACE Mentor Program of America, a mentorship program that introduces high school students to careers in the design and construction industry.
“Mentorship has always been close to my heart; it’s something I’ve spoken about extensively throughout my career,” Vierheilig said. “I’ve been fortunate to have had incredible mentors guide me along the way, and I’m honored to pay it forward by dedicating my time to supporting ACE’s mission.”
STV has a long-standing commitment to the ACE Mentor Program, with Jeff Messinger, PE, LEED AP BD+C, vice president and national maintenance facilities practice leader, currently serving as Chair of the ACE East Region Council; Chuck Kohler, chief project officer, being a Board Member for the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York (ACE GNY); and Marcos Díaz González, executive vice president and head of STV’s Centers of Excellence, serving as Chair of ACE GNY’s Board. Within ACE GNY—the largest chapter in the country, with over 1,500 student participants and a network of more than 700 mentors—STV has boasted one of the largest groups of mentors from any single organization in recent years. Most recently, STV’s Elizabeth Lisk, PE, structural engineer, was selected by her peers as ACE GNY’s 2024 Mentor of the Year.
“At STV, we believe in providing formative career experiences and strong mentorship to the next generation—both within our organization and through partnerships with programs like ACE Mentor,” Vierheilig said. “ACE’s impact on students’ lives and career paths is inspiring, and I’m eager to contribute to its continued success.”
As president of STV’s national buildings group, Vierheilig oversees more than 350 employees engaged in all aspects of building programming, planning, architecture, interior design and multidisciplinary engineering. She drives strategy, growth and project delivery across a range of social infrastructure markets, including justice, education, health and well-being, transportation, science and technology, federal programs and cities.
With over 25 years of experience as an architect, Vierheilig is committed to advancing the profession and giving back to the community. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) New York City Post, the Board of Directors for the Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey (CIANJ), the Board of Overseers for the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and the Advisory Board for NJIT’s Hillier College of Architecture and Design.
