STV’s design team is celebrating the recent completion of the firm’s first McDonald’s project in Florida, continuing a strong partnership with the corporation across Southern and Midwestern states.
The new Santa Rosa Beach location, situated along the bustling U.S. Route 98 and near the scenic Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, commemorated its grand opening in December. The restaurant, which is the second McDonald’s in the area following an earlier 2024 opening, employs over 50 staff members and will serve customers throughout Walton County, FL.
As the lead civil engineer, STV has supported the project since 2022, providing due diligence for concept planning and traffic studies, comprehensive civil site design and permitting assistance. The site presented unique challenges due to evolving access road requirements and required coordination with multiple stakeholders, including the City of Santa Rosa Beach and adjacent property owners.

AEI, an STV company, has partnered with McDonald’s USA, LLC, for more than 20 years, completing over 250 projects across Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and now Florida. The team has delivered a range of services, including surveying, geotechnical and soil exploration, traffic studies, environmental site assessments and comprehensive civil site design for both remodels and new store locations.
This latest milestone highlights STV’s ability to navigate complex design challenges while delivering innovative solutions, further strengthening its partnership with McDonald’s and reinforcing the firm’s commitment to serving communities nationwide.
