STV Engineer Named ACEC North Carolina Top Young Professional
Tiffany Preddy

Tiffany Preddy, PE, project manager and engineer in Morrisville, North Carolina, earned the 2025 Young Professional of the Year award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina (ACEC NC). The award program selects two emerging leaders for their professional achievements and contributions to the engineering industry, both in North Carolina and nationally.

“I’m truly honored by this award and grateful for the growth opportunities STV has provided me and my team,” Preddy said. “So much of the work I do in my professional and personal life centers the people and our shared environments in North Carolina, so I’m thrilled that this award can highlight water resource engineering and the role engineers like me play in keeping our hometowns and infrastructure resilient.”

Preddy works at the intersection of civil engineering and water resources, leading STV’s drainage designs, stormwater and water management, resilience and environmental improvements for transportation projects in North Carolina. Born and raised in a rural farming community outside Oxford, NC, Preddy cultivated a deep connection to nature from an early age. After graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in biological and agricultural engineering, she specialized in complex drainage systems and flood mitigation for local communities.

“Since Tiffany joined our team in 2024, we knew that she would leave a lasting impact on our company and our North Carolina communities throughout her career,” said Claire Brinkley, AICP, vice president and Charlotte area manager. “Early on at STV, Tiffany stepped up to help lead our team, deftly navigating unique client relationships, managing multiple projects, and maintaining a collaborative, dynamic, and encouraging environment for her team.”

An avid painter and outdoorsman, Preddy is a longstanding member and volunteer with three location chapters of Ducks Unlimited (DU), the leading organization for conserving, restoring and managing wetlands and habitats for North American waterfowl. She is also a member of the American Public Works Association (APWA) and APWA’s Young Professionals organization, as well as the NC Water Resources Research Institute.
