Erich Ploch

Eric Ploch, PE, STV vice president, principal, senior project manager in Austin, has been elected treasurer and Board Member of the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) Austin Chapter. This organization is dedicated to assisting members in professional development by providing training opportunities that strengthen the position of minority business owners in the transportation industry.

“The future of this city is being built upon an inclusive workforce, and we need to bring all stakeholders to the table,” Ploch said. “I hope my role can help facilitate networking, scholarship opportunities and continued growth for minority-owned transportation professionals.”

Ploch first became involved in the COMTO Austin Chapter in January 2020 when the chapter was in need of revitalization and growth. In his new role, he is responsible for managing the organization’s financial resources that support the execution of its mission, as well as ensuring compliance with all financial regulations, providing accurate financial reporting and working with the other board members to guide the direction of the chapter. In addition to these responsibilities, Ploch also serves as the chair of the Sponsorship Committee and is actively involved in the Events and Scholarship Fundraising committees.

STV has a long-standing commitment to the advancement of Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBE), as a proud part of the team providing mentorship services through the New York City School Construction Authority and landmark Equity in Infrastructure pledge.

With more than 35 years of experience in transportation design, planning and program management, Ploch is heavily involved in his community, participating in Williamson County’s “Learn to Fish” day and the Greater Austin chapter of Engineers Without Borders (EWB) USA’s Water Trotter event. He is on the advisory council for the Regional Economic Development (REED) Plan being led by the Diversity & Ethnic Chamber Alliance (DECA) to encourage job creation and is part of the civil engineering mentorship program at the University of Texas at Austin.
