STV Welcomes Percival Buxhoeveden as Vice President,  National Signals Manager

NEW YORK, NY – STV, a national leader in the planning, design and construction management of transportation systems, has tapped Percival Buxhoeveden as vice president and national signals manager. He will provide project and technical leadership for STV’s signal practice and support the firm’s commitment to grow and expand its signal and train control services with existing and new clients across North America.

Over the course of his more than 37-year career in the industry, Buxhoeveden has worked alongside railroads, signal system suppliers and consultants, providing expertise for design, project management and testing. He served as signal systems lead for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) East Side Access project during the initial design phases. He also performed design services on behalf of Amtrak and LIRR for the integration of Penn Station Central Control’s new computerized control system.

On the West Coast, Buxhoeveden led the development of signal work and bridging documents for Caltrain’s electrification project between San Francisco and San Jose and supported the agency during construction. He has also performed design and construction management services on behalf of agencies such as Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, NJ TRANSIT, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District and Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority.

Prior to joining STV, Buxhoeveden was vice president and deputy chief of signal systems at a planning, design, construction management and alternative project delivery firm. He is an active member of American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association, Committees 37 and 39.
