NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – STV, a leading professional services firm that plans, designs and manages infrastructure projects across North America, today announced its selection by the Charleston County Aviation Authority (CCAA) to provide comprehensive architectural and engineering services as part of the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Airport Improvement Program at Charleston International Airport (CHS), Charleston Executive Airport (JZI) and Mount Pleasant Regional Airport (LRO).
STV will serve as a major subconsultant to Holt Consulting Company. As part of this three-year contract, STV will partner with CCAA to implement its multimillion-dollar work program, which focuses on enhancing efficiency, safety and the passenger experience at South Carolina airports.

CHS is South Carolina’s largest and busiest airport, with nearly 6.3 million travelers passing through in 2024. To accommodate future passenger growth, CCAA has outlined a major expansion plan aimed at increasing capacity by 20-30%. Key projects include:
- Four new temporary west gates with a full-service concourse
- Expanded overnight aircraft parking
- A new parking garage with state-of-the-art rental car pavilion
- Eight new permanent gates and a ticket hall expansion as part of a new Concourse East
- A new Concourse C with seven permanent gates, ultimately replacing the temporary west gates
- Upgrades to TSA security checkpoints, a new federal inspection station, as well as additional food, retail and other passenger amenities
STV’s national aviation practice is a leader in the planning, design and construction management of airport infrastructure. The firm was recently selected to provide program and construction management services for the modernization of Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG). Its award-winning portfolio also includes program management for Delta Air Lines’ Terminal C and construction management for the Terminal B redevelopment at LaGuardia Airport (LGA), as well as engineering and design for the new Terminal A at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). STV has also led extensive work at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston (IAH). The firm is currently providing design and construction administration services at the Boeing Company’s Charleston Airport Campus, located immediately adjacent to CHS.
