The 2026 Winter Olympics are officially underway in Italy, and the STV team is cheering on Kristopher Horn, an engineering specialist in Boston who is on Team USA’s U.S. Bobsled Team.

This marks Horn’s return to Olympic competition after competing in the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Bobsled training heats begin on February 18, with official competitions starting on February 21.

“You never assume you’ll get another opportunity to compete at the Olympic Games,” Horn said. “Returning to Team USA is both exciting and humbling, and I’m ready to compete against the best in the world.”

Horn previously represented the United States in Beijing, competing in the four-man bobsled event as a push athlete, focused on delivering explosive power at the start of each run. In 2026, he returns in a new role as a pilot – the athlete responsible for steering the sled down the track and making split-second decisions through each turn and straightaway. Bobsled is one of the fastest and most physically demanding sports in the Winter Games, with sleds reaching speeds of up to 90 miles per hour.

Horn’s journey to the Olympics began on the track at the University of Massachusetts, where he was a record-setting decathlete. After college, a coach encouraged him to try bobsled – a pivot that led to national team selection and ultimately a spot on the 2022 U.S. Olympic Team.

Since his Olympic debut, Horn has continued to compete at the highest levels, racing against the world’s top teams on the international stage. His experience, skill and perseverance paved the way for his return to Team USA in 2026.

Balancing Olympic-level training with a full-time engineering career, Horn exemplifies the dedication, discipline and teamwork that define both elite athletes and STV’s culture.

“Kris’s Olympic return is an incredible achievement,” said Michael Camoscio, PE, LEED AP BD+C, engineering director at STV. “He brings the same focus and dedication to his work that he does in competition, and we’re proud to support him as he represents both our firm and our country.”
