J.J. Roohms, P.E., president of the Texas Mountain Region operating group and Marisa Vergara, P.E., principal and water practice director, have been named to the Civil & Environmental Engineering Advisory Council (CEEAC), a leading industry organization that serves as a resource for the Texas A&M University College of Engineering.

As members of the CEEAC, as well as Texas A&M alumni, Roohms and Vergara will lend their expertise and guidance in helping the college shape its program and maintain its status as one of the top engineering programs in the country while preparing the next generation of engineering leaders.

“I’m incredibly honored to support such a crucial organization in this capacity,” Roohms said. “I’m a firm believer in the power of mentorship, and I’m looking forward to giving back to a place that was so formative in my career.”

“This is an incredible opportunity to help shape the educational program for the next generation of engineers,” Vergara said. “I look forward to strengthening Texas A&M’s already acclaimed engineering department and engaging with engineering students eager to start their careers.”

Texas A&M’s CEEAC was founded with the mission to assist and advise the college with educational, research, service, and extension programs; college strategic goals; industry relationships; and resource development for the college. STV’s teams in Texas have been long-standing supporters of the university, and regularly represent the firm at college events.
