Originally built in 1915, New London Hall is the historic first academic building on the Connecticut College campus. Today, it houses the college’s Life Sciences programs, including Biology, Botany, Environmental Science and Computer Science. To modernize the facility for contemporary research and teaching needs, STV provided owner’s project management services for a comprehensive renovation and expansion of the building.
The program encompassed the renovation of the 25,500-square-foot hall and its attached 3,200-square-foot greenhouse, along with the construction of a new 13,600-square-foot addition. The fully upgraded facility now includes 21 faculty offices, five classrooms, seven teaching labs and six research labs – creating modern, flexible spaces designed to support interdisciplinary collaboration and hands‑on scientific learning.
