Delta Air Lines Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport

The award-winning Delta Air Lines Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport stands as a landmark in the New York airport’s $8 billion redevelopment program. Opened to widespread acclaim, the 1.3‑million‑square‑foot terminal elevates the passenger experience with its contemporary design, flexible gate layout, and amenities that reflect New York’s cultural vibrancy. STV, in joint venture with Satterfield & Pontikes and in partnership with Turner Construction and Group PMX, served as Delta’s construction manager‑as‑agent, overseeing 21 coordinated sub-projects that brought this next-generation terminal to life.

What challenges did STV address?

LaGuardia Airport faced aging infrastructure, constrained gate capacity and airfield inefficiencies that contributed to congestion and traveler delays. The redevelopment sought to transform Terminal C into a world-class facility capable of meeting rising passenger demand, integrating modern security systems and strengthening overall operational performance, all while keeping the airport fully functional during construction.

What solutions did STV deliver?

STV and S&P provided comprehensive program and construction management services, including project management, construction supervision, project controls, estimating, accounting, document control, design oversight and scheduling. The team also delivered BIM expertise along with quality control, safety and procurement support – creating seamless coordination across the headhouse, concourses, airfield improvements and customer‑facing spaces.

How does this project benefit the region?

Terminal C enhances passenger flow, reduces taxi times through dual-lane airfield design and creates a more efficient and enjoyable travel experience. With its centralized security, expanded concessions, integrated art program, and new Delta Sky Club the terminal strengthens New York’s position as a global gateway.
