The award-winning Delta Air Lines Terminal C at LaGuardia Airport is the New York region’s newest icon. Opening to rave reviews in June 2022, the new, 1.3-million-square-foot terminal is a key part of LaGuardia’s larger $8 billion redevelopment. STV, in joint venture with Satterfield & Pontikes and in partnership with Turner Construction and Group PMX, served as Delta’s construction manager-as-agent for the project, providing a full array of program and management services in the execution of 21 sub-projects.
A 457,000-square-foot headhouse stands as the centerpiece of the new Terminal C, greeting travelers with a unique art program that was executed in concert with the Queens Museum. Additionally, the terminal features 37 flexibly sized aircraft gates distributed among four concourses connected by a centralized check-in lobby. Dual taxi lanes between the concourses improve airfield efficiency, resulting in reduced taxi time to and from the gate before take-off and after landing. With a centralized security checkpoint, baggage claims and a brand-new Delta Sky Club, plus ample space and seating, the terminal’s greater capacity, functionality and architectural design create an exceptional travel experience for passengers.
As part of its scope, STV and S&P performed project management, construction supervision, project controls, estimating, accounting, document control, design oversight and scheduling services, while also providing Building Information Modeling (BIM) expertise, and quality control, safety and procurement support.
