Fort Lee Munitions Training Complex

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ new munitions and explosive ordnance disposal training facility provides dedicated training areas as well as office space, all devoted to instructional activities.

The 109,000-square-foot facility features a one-story, 11,200-square-foot robotics training building. The project was constructed as part of the larger U.S. Army’s Base Realignment and Closure program that increased the efficiency of the U.S. Department of Defense’s operations. STV provided design and construction phase services as a subconsultant, including architectural and interior design, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. Designed to meet LEED® Silver certification, the project team deployed Bentley Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.

A new munitions and robotics training complex strengthens the U.S. Army’s instructional capabilities.
