Glenwood Houses Exterior Renovations

The New York City Housing Authority’s (NYCHA) on exterior renovations of Glenwood Houses consist of 20 six-story residential apartment buildings on 22 acres in Brooklyn. STV served as NYCHA’s construction manager-as-agent for the complex’s exterior renovation.

The project scope included building facade repairs to address unsafe conditions and protect the exterior envelopes from various weather conditions. Other renovations made were the installation of a sidewalk shed, exterior masonry repairs, asbestos and lead abatement, brick replacement, repointing, parapet replacement, installation of a new bullet-resistant aluminum curtain wall system, installation of new galvanized steel railings with panels on all roofs, and mechanical and electrical work. In addition, new roofs were installed to improve the waterproofing and energy efficiency of the 20 buildings.

Extensive renovations breathe new life into New York City housing development.
