New York City’s public Pre-K program, known as Universal Pre-K, has grown significantly since it was first launched in 2014. With skyrocketing demand for these vital educational resources, the New York City School Construction Authority (NYCSCA) launched a fast-track interior fit-out of two pre-kindergarten schools, PS 491M on Manhattan’s Upper East Side and PS 474M on East 47th Street.
As part of a larger task order with the NYCSCA, STV performed a range of construction management services for two schools. STV’s award-winning team oversaw a fast-track fit-out that revamped approximately 11,000 square feet for each school. To open in time for the new school year, the project was completed within 150 calendar days.
Demonstrating the speed and efficiency of the construction team, the schools were substantially completed ahead of schedule while meeting New York City Department of Buildings project close-out requirements.
