As part of Marymount Manhattan College’s merger with Boston-based Northeastern University, STV conducted a comprehensive property condition assessment to evaluate the physical assets of four campus buildings comprising administrative, academic and residential space. The study helped Northeastern University assess the current use, condition, code compliance, programmatic suitability and anticipated investment required for these facilities to continue serving as university spaces.
STV’s multidisciplinary team of architects, engineers and seasoned inspectors performed detailed visual inspections, methodically documenting, rating and prioritizing any identified deficiencies. The team prepared a customized condition assessment program that linked deficiencies to the latest regional unit costs, adjusting for market trends and escalation rates, to provide accurate cost projections for maintaining the buildings in a state of good repair.
STV’s digital advisory group played a key role in facilitating the study, utilizing Fulcrum, a mobile app for field assessments, and preparing a Power BI dashboard to analyze and filter the resulting data.
The team continues to collaborate with Northeastern University, reviewing programmatic space use and developing strategies for phased improvements that address deficiencies while supporting the university’s long-term vision for its New York City campus.
